“Apsara”, vintage porcelain cup, 1980s, hand-painted
Out of stock
Somewhere far away, across seas and countries, from India, Cambodia, Indonesia, Vietnam and all the way to China, people have all heard of Apsara.
The Apsar’s turquoise eyes and flushed cheeks have found their place on vintage 1980s cups, signed Johnson Brothers.
The firm, born in the mid-19th century, no longer exists today, but its porcelain creations still endure.
The model shown here, titled “Blue Ice”, was produced from 1983 to 1985 and mirrors a beautiful blue whale tail. It was also the starting point for the face of the Apsars we painted.
Look into the magical, turquoise eyes of your Apsara and remind yourself of the vibrant power of the feminine self, day after day, as you sip your coffee. What’s more, give an Apsara as a gift to your best friend, mother or sister. That way you’ll all have an interesting and rare item that promises to connect you to the most beautiful part of your heart.
The price is for a cup with plate.
